  • Would anybody be interested in an online book club kinda thing, using webcams? Email me if so!
07 AUGUST 2004:
  • !NEW! Looks like those poems will be up earlier than expected! I have figured out a new layout and design that will help me upload your poetry faster! Watch out for your poem by the end of August!
  • TEENWRITING IS CHANGING ADDRESS! That's right! With the new server change, the website will soon be hosted at a brand new address with faster server speeds!
  • Teenwriting is featured in Mizz! The magazine suggested this website for youngsters to upload their poetry. Thanks to all those people who read it and have posted poems!
04 July 2004:
  • "We Will Rock You" is actually the most amazing feel-good musical I have ever seen. Catch it now! Review online.
  • June's poems coming soon!
27 May 2004:
  • With all the vacancies taken for www.VoiceIt.co.uk (what was TeenSpecies) it will not be long until our first issue goes online on 8th June 2004. Be on the lookout for it!
  • All the poems from May have been added, thanks again!

29 April 2004:
  • Got half the poems up! Doing the other half tomorrow. Gosh it was hard work! Enjoy though! xx
  • Reading "Notes on a Scandal" by Zoe Heller. Will be sure to put the review up along with a review of Macbeth in Stratford.
  • Updated the "Poetry Notes" section. Just put in a new section about why we read poetry and the differences between adult and teenage writing.
  • Once all the new poems are up (another 29 to go now... should be done by the start of May!) I will be running our first poetry competition!
21 April 2004: NEW
  • Now that I'm back I'll start re-working on a new website where you will be able to submit your own poems without me reading and approving them first (we'll just delete inappropiate ones).
  • Over 40 of you have submitted new poems over the past 2 months, which I have been incredibly impressed about! All these are still saved on my computer and will go up on the new site!
  • For now though, be content with a review on "Oryx and Crake" by Margaret Atwood.
20 Feb 2004:
  • Apologies for the lack of the new poems! Got coursework going on and my girlfriend is in hospital, I'll put them all up by the first week of March though.
09 Feb 2004:
  • Hit the big Five-Oh!
  • Next week I'm off to London to see 3 West End shows. Will post the reviews asap.
31 January 2004:
  • Happy Birthday to me!
  • Uploaded all the poems today, there shouldn't be any missing. Please check your work before you submit it. I just copy and paste then read them afterwards. Some of your work is being tarnished by spelling mistakes! They're still great though. Thanks for submitting them. I've had a couple of people email me asking for my opinion on their work too. Don't be afraid to do that! I'm never too busy for poetry.
22 January 2004:
  • It's done! I've uploaded all the poems I received over Christmas. I don't think I've forgotten anybody but if I have just submit them again. We have 5 new writers, so thankyou for submitting your work!
  • Review of Chicago also went online. Enjoy!
16 January 2004:
  • Happy New Year! Apologies that so many of you have not had your poems and stories posted. The last couple of months have been full of university interview preparations and A Level preparations. But one good thing out of it all is that I've got a 2 C offer from Birmingham =P No doubt that this site was part of the reduced offer, so thanks to all of you that have posted your poetry here! I'll get the new ones up as soon as my A Level modules have finished. xxx
01 November 2003:
  • A second review of "Les Miserables" coming soon! (yes I saw it again), along with reviews of "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and "The Price" by Arthur Miller. Stay tuned for more information!
  • First story uploaded.

14th October 2003:

  • Review of "A View from the Bridge" by Arthur Miller, currently being performed @ the Birmingham REP, by Richard. "This play really does do Arthur Miller justice."
  • Richard wins the Blueyonder Poetry Contest! :D

01 October 2003:
  • Apologies to those of you that submitted poetry in the last 2 weeks (there were at least 2 of you). My computer went down so I lost all copies of those poems. If possible, please submit them again. Reviews of "Volpone", "The Alchemist", "Oryx and Crake", and "A View from the Bridge" coming soon.

19th August 2003:

  • Yet another Shakespeare review. Richard went to Bath to watch "As you like it" under the direction of Peter Hall.

12th August 2003:
  • You can now add stories by using the link in the menu. When submitting a poem, you may also add a note to the end of it explaining its relevance or meaning. If you wish to do this for a previously submitted poem, please email evangelic at webmaster@teenwriting.co.uk.

09th August 2003:

  • Review of "Taming of the Shrew" by the Royal Shakespeare Company added by Richard. "It was the first time I've ever laughed so hard at a play by Shakespeare."

27th July 2003:

  • Richard's review of the Boubil and Schonberg musical "Les Miserables" has been added to the site.

24th July 2003:

  • It's been almost one month since the creation of this website, and in just a short 24 days a total of 22 poems have been listed (almost 1 every day!) with new, talented writers such as Grace Lawton, Julia Forsberg, and Mikael Joergensen sharing their work. With a new advertising campaign planned for the end of the summer and more online facilities (such as an IRC channel) we will hopefully see this site enjoy even more success!

24th July 2003:

  • New poetry notes added by Richard Turner. "What makes teenage poetry different?"

30th June 2003:

  • A review on the beautiful musical "Miss Saigon" (currently being performed in Birmingham) has been written by Richard. Coming soon, "Les Miserables" and "Taming of the Shrew."

30th June 2003:

  • A new addition to the website has been launched! From the homepage you can now view reviews on literature and theatre events by choosing them on the menu on the right.

29th June 2003:

  • www.teenwriting.co.uk is launched! You can now enter the summer poetry competition and submit your own poems! The remaining pages are currently under construction.

29th June 2003:

  • Hooray @ the complete simplicity of this website! Well basically the point of this site is for young poets and writers (under 18) to submit their work for all to see. They may either post a short clip of their poetry or story here and add a contact if people wish to read more or purchase your work, or simply submit all of their work for everybody to see for free.
  • The website will also hold competitions for under 18s to enter with details on judges and prizes.
  • If you agree, your poetry may be included in an online anthology for purchase via paypal. All entries that are submitted for competitions will be collected in an online anthology to purchase.
  • The website will also include some helpful hints on tackling essay writing for GCSE and A Level and will include useful notes on some exam texts.
